Custom Printed Marine Grade Upholstery Fabric for Museum
/in Fabric Prints, Upholstery/by John BogensbergerPaul Getty Museum in California needed custom printed marine grade upholstery fabric for a museum display. We communicated long-distance to decide on the perfect design and color. Then the vinyl was printed and shipped to California where it was upholstered at the museum. It was used to cover bed and bolsters for a medieval period exhibit.
We often work with out-of-state clients or franchisers to produce a specific custom product, in this case, printed upholstery fabric. We make the process simple with good communication and quick turnaround. For customers who can’t sit down with us at a computer, it’s important to send samples and test prints that they can see and feel for themselves to make the best decision.
“We started with mailing down some pre-printed samples for them to show their upholsterers and check the quality of the marine grade upholstery fabric,” Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger said. “The next step was quoting the 70 yards they needed to have printed for this project. After approval and deposit, we printed a sample test piece with their pattern and pantone PMS colors, as well as a few colors around their specified colors. We printed this in two print modes—speed and saturation—on the printer.”
We mailed the test piece to them, and they approved the pattern and chose the colors and print mode that best suited the project. From there, we printed the 70 yards of upholstery fabric and sent it to the customer.
If you have a custom project, no matter where you’re at in the nation, we can help! Go “Wild” for Chain Link Fence Slats
/in Fence Slats, new and cool, Rigid Signs/by John Bogensberger
Dress up your fence with chain link fence slats. These fence slats for Micke Grove Zoo in Lodi, CA are printed with beautiful full color graphics of animals. Many of the animals here are from Madagascar, the most bio-diverse place on our planet. This project is part of their 60th Anniversary Celebration. Efrain Lopez from San Joaquin County Facility Management said “The slats installed easily and we have had rave reviews from our visitors and our whole zoo team.” Custom fence slats can even include a message or advertisement.
Use chain link fence slats to:
- Advertise
- Beautify your property line
- Add privacy
- Show school pride
Chain link fence slats are made by printing graphics to sheets of corrugated plastic. Corrugated plastic, often simply called “coro,” is waterproof and UV resistant. And unlike banners or signs that are zip tied to a fence, coro slats are also highly wind resistant. When you order fence slats, we include the printed coro, an edge cap to hold the slats level, and a specialized cutting tool.
Custom fence slats are easy to install. First, you weave the edge cap at the base of the chain link fence. The edge cap makes a straight bottom line for the slats to rest in. We recommend starting in the center of the fence and working outward. Insert each slat into the chain link from the top, weaving through the link until it rests in the edge cap.
We’ve seen chain link fence slats used to create a large outdoor sign, to recognize sponsors or even to showcase children’s artwork. We think custom fence slats work great for sports teams, schools, airports, fairgrounds, and anywhere else with fencing that could sport a message or show pride.

Outdoor Office Signs for Spokane Tribe Casino
/in Post and Panel, Rigid Signs, Wall Signs/by John BogensbergerSpokane Tribe Casino opened a temporary office in Airway Heights while their new casino is under construction. They needed signage to identify their office, attract attention and help applicants for positions in the new casino find the temporary offices. These outdoor office signs do just that, with a large billboard sign as well as a standard building sign above the front door. The signs were designed by BHW1, then sent to Signs for Success for production and installation. Additionally we were under tight turn around time, as the signs were unveiled at a press conference revealing the name of the new casino and the brand.
We can work with existing structures to maximize the outdoor signage. In this case, there is a large billboard structure on the property. We simply covered the old graphics with vibrant new ones, printed on corrugated plastic panels. The oval building sign is 3mm ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) with a high performance UV laminate. It was mounted over the existing awning directly above the front door. Both corrugated plastic and ACM are outdoor durable.
Outdoor office signs help bring attention to the new office location, and modern graphics give a professional image.

/in Box Trucks, Cars SUVs, Emergency Vehicles, Off-Road & Motorcycles, Pickups, Trailers, Vans, Vehicles, Watercraft/by John BogensbergerThese bold vinyl graphics make a huge statement. It may be simple, but this giant vinyl lettering placed at an angle is both eye catching and easy to read – two major components of a successful vehicle wrap. Considered a partial wrap, this design is also cost-effective. It delivers impact without literally covering the entire vehicle, saving in material and installation time.
Vehicle graphics get the biggest bang for your advertising buck. They work 24/7 and get seen all over town. Make a good impression with modern, bold vinyl graphics. Our design team can work with you to create a one-of-a-kind vehicle wrap design that represents your business on the road.
Whether you drive a compact car, a semi truck, or anything in between, our custom wraps are designed from scratch. We start with measurements and photos of the vehicle(s) which are then used to create a custom template. This ensures all graphics get the best placement and coverage on your specific vehicle. We send design proofs for approval, which may include color tests if we are matching an exact logo or pantone color. Then it’s off to printing and installation. Every step of the process is done in-house at our facility where we can guarantee the quality of our work.

Vehicle Wrap Installation Simplified with Knifeless Tape
/in Box Trucks, Cars SUVs, Emergency Vehicles, Installs Only, Off-Road & Motorcycles, Pickups, Trailers, Vans, Vehicles, Watercraft/by John BogensbergerVehicle wrap installation is one of our specialties. Ever since we saw this tool at the Las Vegas trade show in the summer of 2012, it’s been a permanent addition to our installer’s tool kit. Knifeless tape is an answer to a challenge that all vehicle wrap installation installers face: cutting on paint. The Knifeless Tech System not only makes installation safer and more accurate, but it also saves time, therefore saving both the installer and customer money. Here are 3 reasons why we love using knifeless tape:
- 1. Knifeless tape replaces the need to use a blade directly on a vehicle when doing a full or partial vehicle wrap installation. “Traditionally, you would have to use a blade to contour cut vinyl along body lines. The knifeless tape eliminates the possibility of cutting the vinyl too deep and scratching the paint,” Signs for Success Vehicle Wrap Installer Rich Wilke explained.
Knifeless tape has a high strength filament, or thread, embedded in the center of the tape. To use the tape, you apply the tape directly to the vehicle where cuts will be made, then apply the vinyl graphics on top. After the vinyl is applied, pulling the filament will create a perfect, smooth cut.
- Knifeless tape also allows for less error in cut lines. “If you use a blade, you might get a little wiggle in your line,” Rich said. 3M says of their product, “The tape is extremely flexible and turns smoothly in any direction, conforming to even the tightest contours and edges of any surface it is applied to. It can also be pulled straight, creating precise cut lines.” It also makes matching body lines simple since you see the line before you actually cut. If the line looks a little off, simply pull up the tape and reposition. Any excess tape removes cleanly after the filament is pulled.
- Signs for Success Installer Chris Komski noted another benefit of using knifeless tape. When doing an overlap, if you use a blade and cut too deep, you cut both layers. Over time, the bottom layer will separate, revealing the body paint color underneath. Using knifeless tape will cut only the top layer, keeping overlapping layers overlapped, making your vehicle wrap installation look better and last longer.
“We use knifeless tape whenever we can. We used it on a motorcycle wrap and a boat wrap just last week,” Signs for Success Production Manager Denise Gillit said. Bottom line, knifeless tape alleviates the need to use a knife directly on a vehicle wrap installation; it makes an install safe, fast and more accurate which translates to a better looking vehicle wrap at a better price!

Banner Stands Easy to Use to Upgrade Look
/in Banners, Displays, Event Banners, Retractable Banner Stands, Tradeshow & Promo/by John BogensbergerBanners don’t have to be temporary forms of signage. Although they’re often used for grand openings and other temporary events, banners can last many years and even be effective permanent indoor signage. How? Banner stands take your average banner to a whole new level.
Sleek banner stands display your banner in a professional way that is appropriate for anything from business conferences to permanent indoor displays. Changing out graphics is easy, especially with a pop-up banner stand. Banner stands are also easy to store, transfer and set up, making them the perfect addition to a tradeshow display.
We stock both retractable banner stands and pop-up banner stands. Retractable stands house the banner inside the base during transport and roll out and hook onto a sturdy rod when displayed. Our retractable banner stands and smooth vinyl banner material look professional at any function. Retractable banner stands are designed to house a 33.5” wide x 69-92” tall banner.
Pop-up stands function separately from the banner. After setting up the expandable stand, simply unroll your grommeted banner and attach the four corners to four corresponding hooks on the stand. Our Pop-up stands are adjustable and can accommodate custom sized banners ranging from as small as 18” wide x 63” tall up to 59”x98” at the largest.
Use banner stands to:
- Move your advertising easily between locations.
- Display different messages at separate events or during different seasons.
- Expand viewable space at a tradeshow or other promotional event.
- Increase advertising at a retail location by placing it in the front window or another strategic location.
- Boost brand recognition and gain support at a fundraiser, conference, or any other advertising opportunity.
Our experienced design team can help you create the perfect custom banner for your retractable or pop-up banner stand. Contact us to get started! See More!

Food Truck Wrap for Big Cheesy
/in Box Trucks, Pickups, Trailers, Vans, Vehicles/by John Bogensberger
This custom designed food truck wrap is majorly cheesy.
The wrap covers sides, hood and even the vent on top with tantalizing cheese graphics. A food truck wrap gets your business noticed on the road and at stops like fairs and festivals. Some popular wrap graphics include name and logo, the menu, images of food, or other related theme. One food truck used a patriotic theme with all-over fireworks for a festive summer touch.
The Big Cheesy Gourmet Grill wrap has a relevant, yellow and black drippy cheese theme. The wrap graphics also complement the yellow paint color of the food truck, increasing the impact of this food truck wrap. When we don’t cover the entire vehicle surface, it’s called a partial wrap. With partial wraps, we do our best to give the same impression as a full wrap by coordinating with, or fading into the original vehicle paint color.
A custom food truck wrap:
- Gets noticed on the road and at events
- Builds recognition
- Lasts 5-7 years
- Is easily removable when it’s time to replace graphics or update menu
- May cause drooling
