Change Machine Wrap designed, printed and installed by Signs for Success

We love restoration projects and makeovers.  “Makeovers are one of the most enjoyable types of projects we do at Signs for Success,” Owner John Bogensberger said.  The transformation and final product is always fun to see.

One recent makeover was a wrap advertising project for a change machine.  Color change wraps and custom printed wraps can makeover almost anything, from trucks and boats to a beverage cooler – the customer chose a camouflage wrap for his man cave beverage cooler – or even a change machine.

“We created a wrap design to cover over an old change machine,” Signs for Success designer Will Oakley said.  “The design was made to match the theme of the customer’s restaurant.”  This custom wrap advertises birthday parties and mirrors the fun atmosphere of 5 Mile Heights Pizza.

Signs for Success printed the change machine graphics onto high performance wrap vinyl, then installed the vinyl onto the machine at our facility.  The brightly colored graphics are eye-catching, and they make the old machine look brand new!

How to Wrap a Change Machine

It’s easy.  First strip the old machine of any old graphics or decals, take off any parts that are easily removed, and clean the surface.  Next, place the wrap vinyl where you want it.  Begin smoothing out the vinyl.  If it looks good, go over the surface with a heat gun and smooth with a squeegee tool.  If it needs repositioning, pull up the vinyl, reposition, and repeat.  Use a sharp blade to cut extra vinyl off or to contour cut around handles, openings or other features.

We always recommend having a wrap professionally installed.  Our installers are Avery Car Wrap Certified, have been through rigorous training and testing, and have successfully installed hundreds of wraps.  We want you to get the most out of your wrap advertising, so we make sure the job is done right, and we can guarantee a longer lasting wrap.  Contact us for a free quote!

John Deere Gator Matte Black Wrap, off road wraps in Spokane and Medical Lake

John Deere Gator gets Matte Black Wrap

John Deere Gator Matte Black Wrap

“Pape Machinery is sponsoring the Spokane Shock football team this year and had us wrap a John Deere Gator for them.  The Gator will be used at home games and other events to promote the utility, versatility, and overall fun of this John Deere unit,” Signs for Success owner John Bogensberger explained.

This cool matte black wrap is dotted with decals all over the hood and body.  A giant Spokane Shock logo decal tops the vehicle, and is placed strategically to be seen from the stadium seating all around, making this one awesome looking John Deere Gator.

Off Road Wraps

Off road wraps are unique because we often work with less common, rugged shapes.  “One challenge with the Gator was the roof,” Signs for Success designer Kimberly Hoffmann said.  “There were deep grooves in the roof, and we had to calculate how the graphic was going to lay out going in and out of the grooves.”  Kimberly took special care to make sure the logo would not be distorted when it was applied.

Decals were strategically placed all over this off road wraps

The installation was a little more time-consuming than most.   Before installation even began, most of the parts of the gator had to be removed, then re-installed after the wrap was complete.  With all the smaller decals that had to be installed over the wrap, our install team worked tirelessly to get every decal just right in a layout that is seamless and looks effortless.    The finished product was absolutely worth the extra time.

We were able to work with the unique shapes, grooves and parts of the John Deere Gator to create a great promotional vehicle wrap.  We have designed, printed and installed hundreds of vehicle wraps, including off road wraps.  Although most of them are for cars, trucks, SUVs and other common vehicles, we have successfully wrapped such uncommon vehicles as boats, motorcycles, go karts, Zambonis, golf carts, and more.  If you have a unique vehicle you want to make into a promotional tool, or just want to make it your own, let Signs for Success help you achieve your vision!  Contact us today for a free quote.

    Curved Extruded Signs

    MCFT Signs

The MCFT Advantage

Modular signs are easy to update.  The curved frame system accommodates many types of sign substrates including plastics such as styrene, metals, or paper.  The sign is easily inserted or removed to update a sign.  The curved shape keeps inserted materials firmly in place using its strong tension grip.  In addition, the frame system can be used in conjunction with engraving, vinyl, ADA, digital printing, and more.  The modular system is highly versatile since standardized units can be assembled in different ways.

History of Ford: Custom Timeline Wall Wrap

Timeline wall wrap on auto showroom wall

Ford has a rich history of American entrepreneurship and innovation.  This custom timeline wall wrap showcases just how far Ford has come since its beginnings in the late 1800s.  The wall wrap project began when Gus Johnson Ford wanted to cover an entire length of their showroom wall with a custom printed wall covering.  Signs for Success partnered with The Quinn Group to come up with a good solution.

“When Bonnie Quinn, from The Quinn Group, asked us to brainstorm wall coverings for Gus Johnson Ford, we met her down there to do a wall test to see what materials would work best,” Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger said.  “Our options were wallpaper or decal coverings for the wall.  The wall is textured, so wallpaper was out.  We opted for 3M Control Tac high performance wrap vinyl, based on the wall test results.”  Control Tac wrap vinyl is what we frequently use on custom vehicle wraps.  It contours to fit every curve and crevice of a vehicle for a smooth paint-like finish, so it was perfect for adhering to a textured wall.

Dimensional logos and photos on timeline wall wrap

Adding Dimension to the Custom Wall Wrap

During the design process, we learned they didn’t just want a flat image, but photos and logos that stood off the wall for added dimension.  “In brainstorming, we talked about stretched canvas, printed acrylic, gatorfoam, and Sintra/PVC.  We also talked about mounting with standoffs, panel clips, and blocking out with double stick tape,” Vanessa explained.  Any of these solutions could have worked, giving a slightly different effect.  When Vanessa got the final approved artwork, however, many of the dimensional pieces were odd-shaped other than rectangular, so they opted for waterjet cut sintra/PVC at 1/4″ thick.  Adding blocks of ½” thick gator to the back of each sign gave them the 3D look Gus Johnson Ford was hoping for.

Installation went smoothly; the wall wrap was applied first, then the dimensional logos were installed with heavy-duty double stick tape on top of the wrap.  The showroom looks amazing with the new timeline wall wrap.  Signs for Success offers unique custom printing solutions for any surface.  Contact us for more information or to request a free quote!

Aluminum Composite Lap Desks Transform Education in Africa

These lap desks are printed and laminated, double sided, then cut out, given to school kids in Africa for a great learning experience

PAL Lap desks are custom printed aluminum composite material

PAL stands for Portable Academic Lapdesk.  “PAL was born out of years of working in Malawi and Zambia and seeing the dire needs of the schools there,” PAL Non-Profit founder Jackie Wells said.  “In 2009 we developed the idea of making a lap desk that contained all the basics of education on either side of the lap desk.   This would give the students both a desk to work from and basically a visual textbook.”

It took Joel and Jackie Wells several years to develop their non-profit organization, design and copyright the lap desk, get a design patent, and try different prototypes.  During the prototype process, Jackie contacted Signs for Success to see what they could come up with.  “John was willing to think outside the box and came up with the idea of printing directly onto Aluminum Composite.   By laminating over the printing we are providing extra protection as well as UV protection,” Jackie said.Printing Direct to aluminum composite for PAL project

Aluminum Composite Material

Aluminum composite is made of two sheets of thin aluminum with a solid polyethylene core.  It is outdoor durable, heat resistant and water proof.  Lamination increases the life of the print and further protects from UV rays and normal wear and tear.

Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger helped with setup and corrections to provided art files.  Running test prints for the double sided printing took some time and tweaking to get it just right, but with approval from the customer, hundreds of these unique lap desks went to production.  Finally, in June 2014, after much preparation and determination, Joel and Jackie completed the production and distribution of 550 PALs throughout African countries Malawi and Zambia.

Lap desks Get Enthusiastic Response

The distribution to village schools included teacher training.  They’ve since heard back from several teachers about the success of the lap desks.  One teacher wrote, “By seeing the PAL some of our older learners are self-correcting things they had learned wrong.”  Another wrote, “teaching becomes simple to me because learners participate actively using these PALs.”

In a letter of endorsement from the Director of Basic Education in Malawi, Dr. Chimombo states, “The PAL gains the attention of our students with its bright and colorful presentation and gives them a global perspective.  Many of our schools have limited supplies.  If we can establish the distribution of this tool into these schools the PAL will provide them with a much needed resource.  The teacher’s manual that accompanies the PAL will provide great support to instructors.”

Joel and Jackie are in the midst of a RocketHub social media campaign that will last until April 15 to raise funds to take 600 more PALs into Africa in September 2015.
