Chain link fence slats are made by printing graphics to sheets of corrugated plastic.  Corrugated plastic, often simply called “coro,” is waterproof and UV resistant.  And unlike banners or signs that are zip tied to a fence, coro slats are also highly wind resistant.  When you order fence slats, we include the printed coro, an edge cap to hold the slats level, and a specialized cutting tool.

Custom fence slats are easy to install.  First, you weave the edge cap at the base of the chain link fence.  The edge cap makes a straight bottom line for the slats to rest in.  We recommend starting in the center of the fence and working outward.  Insert each slat into the chain link from the top, weaving through the link until it rests in the edge cap.Custom Printed Chain Link Fence Slats for Zoo

Custom printed fence slats are made with printed corrugated plastic inserts that slide into chain link fence.  They eliminate the possibility of wind damage that often ruins other types of fence signs, such as banners or large coro signs.  Fence slat signs can be single- or double-sided.  Full color graphics, though cut into approximately 2” strips, are vibrant and easily discernible.

To install your custom fence sign, simply weave the bottom endcap piece into the chain link where you want the bottom of the sign to rest.  Then use the provided cutting tool to cut down slats a few at a time (so as not to misplace or jumble any).  Weave the slats into the chain link from the top of the fence one by one until your picture is complete.

Ever thought of Fence Slat Signs ?

Chain link fencing is everywhere.  It’s a great advertising space, but the biggest problem we see with fence signs is wind damage.  When heavy gusts come from behind the fence, a banner becomes like a sail, and over time, the sign will tear or blow away.  Mesh banner material allows the wind to filter through, but with very strong winds, even that’s not enough to keep a banner in one piece.

Custom printed plastic inserts solve this problem.  They slide into chain link fence, and because individual slats have much less surface area than a large sign or banner, they’re not susceptible to wind damage.

The idea for fence slat signs first came when a neighbor decided to dismantle a motorhome in their front yard.  The banging and pounding was bearable but the eyesore was not.  So we decided to create some privacy between our property and theirs by printing custom chain link fence slat signs.

Chain link fence slat signs can be printed on both sides, offering twice the advertising space, so our next question was, “what should we print?”  We used the opportunity to showcase text sizing so clients could get a realistic idea of how big 8″ to 24″ tall letters and numbers look at a viewing distance of 140 feet – the distance from our showroom to the fence.  On the side facing away from our property, the slats are printed with a serene mountain scene.
