Iron garden sign, hanging way finding sign“Amy Anderson from Complete Office was instrumental in bringing this project to us.  She envisioned something with personality, and in her words, “maybe something a little old-fashioned in design,”” Signs for Success sales specialist Tom Bross said.  Together we came up something more special than simply the word ‘laundry’ or ‘garden’.  A custom shape cut shirt, watering can and scissors along with the words laundry, garden and salon make these signs unique and easily recognizable.  “Amy sold the client on the project and then generously allowed Signs for Success to work directly with Riverview on the signs.”

The set of three, dimensional flag-mounted signs all matched in concept, materials, color and size. The directional signs feature a small classic iron scroll pattern.  We painted all the mounting hardware black to match.  The shape-cut symbols for laundry, salon and garden really set these signs apart.

“They worked so well in the first building, they ordered a second set specifically for the Memory Care building,” Tom said. “We also did a beautiful acrylic stand-off timeline sign for the lobby.”

Warehouse roof mounted panel sign with molded plastic letters, outdoor business signsJustus Bag Company needed updated outdoor business signs for their warehouse on Trent, including a roof-mounted panel sign and a sign for the side of the building that faces the street.  We were able to come up with a solution that is both modern and brand-consistent for their needs.

“The client wanted to update their current roof mounted signs with a cleaner, more modern look. After coming to understand their brand, Earl Van Eaton and I decided a vertical sign with just the company name would work best,” Signs for Success sales specialist Tom Bross explained. We used custom molded plastic letters mounted to 3mm Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) to create the roof-top sign.  “The signs are lit from below, so day or night, the new signs make a good impression.”

Instead of applying vinyl directly to the surface, we opted to make a large direct-print ACM sign that was printed and assembled in sections. This gave us a nice white flat background to enlarge the logo on to,” Tom explained.  “The two signs work well together. They look professional, clean and are brand consistent.”

ACM is outdoor durable, makes a great printing surface, and lasts several years. Bates DDSIlluminated sign with Push through letters and logo wanted an updated, modern sign that projects the quality of his dental practice.  This illuminated sign features a solid background with “push thru” letters. Push thru letters and elements interest to a simple and modern monument sign.

Moving to a new building, Bates Dental took advantage of the opportunity. They were able to update their outdoor sign, while still keeping with current branding.  “We worked with his brother from Grid Shift to come up with a clean design that featured back-lit, push-through elements,” Signs for Success Sales Specialist Tom Bross explained.  “We carefully matched the green vinyl for brand consistency.”

“Push thru” signs are signs that have the letters or logo shape routed out and thick acrylic is routed to match.  The acrylic is then pushed through the back of the sign and attaches to the sign face.  The overall effect is clean design with added depth and dimension.

We created the custom illuminated sign with simple design in mind.  Beside the black background, the only color is the logo green, and we had to be sure it was perfect.  We did color testing until we matched their pantone color exactly.

“The challenge was coordinating the install because the monument base was being built as part of the new construction. We visited the site, took measurements, consulted with the builder, and worked out a solution,” Tom said.  “The finished sign is clean, simple and conveys the quality the client was looking for.”

When Maury Ray and Keith Snyder from Community Colleges of Spokane came in to brainstorm ideas for a wall of fame they were looking for nice plaques on a budget. “We started with pricing for cast plaques, but found the price was prohibitive,” Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger said.  After brainstorming some other options for nice looking custom plaques, we decided to try printing on brushed silver ACM.  Aluminum Composite Material has the look of solid metal. It has aluminum faces with a solid plastic core that is great for printing and is extremely durable.  ACM comes in white, black, brushed silver, brushed gold, and a several other colors.  ACM is a versatile material since you can change the look of the print by simply changing the finish of the metal.

To test, we produced a sample print on brushed silver that turned out great.  “We printed black and white images of past coaches with a short paragraph of their coaching history. Brushed aluminum standoffs were used to mount these to the wall, giving a great look,” Vanessa said.  For protection against scratches and other wear and tear, we laminated each plaque with a matte protective laminate.

Then the SCC staff did the wall creation and installation in a grid pattern.   The black and white metal plaques against rich wood planked walls give the display a clean and classic look.

In addition to the brushed silver plaques, we also did eleven smaller plaques on the brushed gold ACM for coaches who have passed.  On these, we added white ink as a layer under the photo area to give the photos depth and dimension, making a great memory wall.Printed Aluminum wall plaques for wall of fame

“Overall, we came in far under budget, and the look is awesome. As they add more coaches in the future, this is an affordable option over cast plaques,” Vanessa explained.

Charity Event Signs for Love 11 Summer Kickoff

charity event signs for Love 11 Foundation in Spokane Josh and Emily, creators of the Micah Daniel Love Foundation, came in about 2 weeks before their big annual Love 11 Summer Kickoff needing charity event signs.

We did several event signs including parking signs and sponsor signs.  “It was pretty run of the mill, except for one sign that we got pretty creative with.” Signs for Success designer Joe Ingalls said.  That sign was a dimensional sign with several layers that incorporated astro-turf, a real clipboard for sign-ups, and a large cut-out of their son, for whom the foundation is named.  All of the elements were mounted at varying distances from the background for added depth.

The photo of Micah Love, who passed away in an accident in 2016, is made the main focus of this standing sign.  The background is a blurred stadium at night with added light rays and fog for drama.  The layers in the forefront include sports balls, a foam finger, and the word “Win.”  The graphics were all contour cut from polystyrene, while the main frame of the sign is printed PVC.

The Micah Daniel Love Foundation “Love 11” is a foundation with a mission to reach at risk and economically disadvantaged youth through sports and local activity programs. Love 11 grants scholarships and funds to youth sports organizations, schools and local programs within our community.  We were honored to be a small part of their annual summer event.

We recommend using at least 13oz vinyl for outdoor banners. However, the majority of our pole banners are printed on heavy duty 18oz vinyl.  This heavier weight vinyl is great for two reasons:
