Printed foam core board is a popular product for everything from posters to framed wall art.  Foam core is an almost weightless board made with a shredded paper foam core and a white coated paper stock face.  It is also one of the least expensive medias we can print on so for short term use it is a great value. If you need the same look but want a more durable product be sure to ask about Gator Plast. Gator Plast utilizes High Impact Styrene plastic faces and shredded Styrene core. This makes for a denser, harder surface which is less prone to dents. Also being plastic it can be cleaned using water based cleaners and not destroyed by moisture. While more expensive it is often, depending on use, the better value for your project.

Spokane Glass Centers came to Signs for Success looking for standard wind flags to be used outside of their business.

“Toni & Gary Orness at Spokane Glass Centers asked for just plain text, but our great design team collaborated and put together the great proof that was approved to be branded specifically for Spokane Glass Centers,” Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger said.  “After they were so happy with the flags, they also ordered a banner and golf sponsor signs.  Promotional products are next!”

Wind flags come in different shapes and sizes, including Falcon, Feather, Teardrop, and Rectangular flags.  The falcon flags come in 7 ft and 13 ft heights.  The falcon flag is intended for display outdoors, but can also be used inside using the X-base.  Custom graphics are printed on polyester mesh fabric that is strong enough for wind speeds up to 23 mph.  Graphics can be changed out easily for different events or seasons by switching a new flag onto the pole and securing it with the included bungee cord to the base.

When I asked Discount Fireworks owner Jack Hughes what made him want to wrap a dune buggy, he explained, “We wanted something to look good for taking on the road when we’re open for business during the Fourth of July and for parades.”  The dune buggy wrap will certainly get attention, not only as a unique vehicle on the road, but also as a bright advertisement for something we all enjoy—fireworks!

Unique wraps always bring the excitement of a new and interesting venture.  This one-of-a-kind vehicle required a custom template.  Designer Vanessa Bogensberger measured each individual piece the wrap would touch and digitally recreated it.  “The trick was to add plenty of bleed to the print so the installers had lots of wiggle room.”

“I had to disassemble the dune buggy for installation,” installer Bruce Katterfeld said.  “I pulled everything apart except the two sides.”  To apply the graphics, heat was applied to each vinyl panel.  “That burns the residues off, all the oils and the powder coat, and makes the vinyl go on easily.  It also prevents any problem down the line,” he explained.

The dune buggy was wrapped just in time for the annual Discount Fireworks bash.  “This was the second year we’ve gone,” Vanessa said, “and Jack can put on a good party.  They must have had 200 door prizes – everyone walked out with something.”  The year-end party is held to show appreciation for employees and give recognition to vendors who contribute significantly to the company.  There was food, drinks, games for the children, dancing, and, of course, fireworks!  Aside from hundreds of happy adults and children, also in attendance were the dune buggy, the Discount Fireworks 40-foot stand, and the Discount Fireworks box truck, all wrapped by Signs for Success.

“We used a simple red, white and blue design to have nice effect and great visibility. The customer provided a rough sketch of content and we gave him a couple of options for design,” Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger said.  Sign content includes type of building and building stats, contact information, and of course, a large and bold “For Sale.”

We printed the chosen sign graphics onto two sheets of 4’x8’ Aluwell Aluminum Composite Material (ACM).  Aluwell panels are made of two pre-painted sheets of .008 aluminum with a solid polyethylene core.  Aluwell is a durable and weather-resistant sign substrate that is great for large outdoor signs.  The signs were then installed on site by the customer’s installer onto posts in a “V” shape.

The customer was pleased with the result.  “I have been using Signs for Success since about 2005. They have great quality and service.  Being local, they understand our “Spokane needs,” and they stand behind their work.  Whenever I need a sign, they are who I call,” Windermere’s Jerry VanHook said.
