White ink has given us a huge range of options in custom sign printing, many of which we are still exploring and finding applications for.  This new technique using varying opacities of white ink gives custom acrylic signs a “dusted” or sandblasted look.

A “dusted” look, similar to sandblasted glass, is achieved when we print 10% opacity white behind a layer of color.  Dusted acrylic signs Spokane can also play with depth perception – when you back any part of an image with 100% white ink, the color will pop.  Softening the white down to 10% makes the image more transparent, and it appears further off in the piece.  We like to use 100% white behind the dominant objects in an advertisement to bring them forward.

One sign project we did recently using the “dusted” method was actually a restoration project.  A vintage pinball machine with cracked glass had to be recreated.  We achieved near perfect color matches with the original vintage images, and by using greater opacity white ink under a few key images, they really pop out when the machine is turned on.  Dusted acrylic signs Spokane look great in office spaces, restaurants and bars, lobbies, and as wall art.  We’ve seen them used as an artful privacy barrier with the look of sandblasted glass or dusted crystal vinyl.  We can print on Lexan or acrylic panels to replace a glass window or door.
