Want an example of contractor branding that works?  We want to spotlight an outstanding contracting company that we’ve been able to work with for the last 15 years and undertake a case study of their marketing and branding strategy over the last decade.

Just Right Cleaning and Construction (JRCC) has been in operation for over 30 years and through two generations.  “Over all that time there have been a lot of changes in their industry as well as technology in general,” Signs for Success owner John Bogensberger said.  “Those changes include how marketing and visual communications to customers and referral sources gets done.”

One thing that has contributed to their growth and success is the way they engage with their customers and the community.  With the help of contractor branding, like trade shows, golf tournaments, and fleet graphics, they have made connections and built their brand.

What is Contractor Branding?  Having the tools you need to take full advantage of each marketing opportunity.

trade show display and ad specialty for contractor brandingTrade Shows

JRCC participates in various builder shows, insurance industry shows and home improvement trade shows.  A good trade show display draws in customers.  JRCC’s custom printed table covers, retractable banner stands and large pop up displays project a professional image that reflects the quality of work they do.

Ad Specialty Items

Speaking of trade shows, Ad specialty items come in handy at shows or any other engagement with a customer or prospect.  “Also known as promotional items or tchotchkes, these products are nice, memorable items that the customer or prospect can utilize over time,” John explained.  “Every time they do, the JRCC logo reminds them where it came from and makes another marketing impression.”  They have used:

  • Drinking cups
  • Golf tees
  • Coffee mugs
  • Sunglasses
  • Pens, and more

new custom building signs at JRCC in SpokaneBuilding Signs

Building signs identify your business.  Having clean, updated signs gives a professional image.  We recently installed new signs for the front of their building.  “The old vinyl that was installed on the corrugated siding finally failed, and we replaced it with ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) panel signs,” John said.  Building signs may also be acrylic, Lexan, PVC, backlit, or dimensional.

fleet graphics, truck wraps for contractor brandingFleet Graphics

“In the early years the graphics on their vehicles were simple cut vinyl graphics,” John explained.  “Over the last 8 years they have gone to full wraps on their trucks, vans and trailers.”  Matching wraps distinguish their vehicles and brand.  They make a great impression whether they are at a job site, on the road or at an event or parade.

JRCC participates in and sponsors various golf tournaments throughout the summer season.  Golf tournaments are a great way to spend time with prospects and customers in a non-business environment.  One of their unique and memorable strategies is a custom go-cart that pulls a wagon with JRCC branded water bottles.  The go kart has a van body and is wrapped to match the rest of the vans in their ever growing fleet.

contractor branding at customer appreciation partyCustomer Appreciation Party

Another aspect of their marketing is a customer appreciation party.  Although not directly geared at advertising, thanking those who contribute to their success is a wonderful way to build friendships and strengthen ties in the community.  “We have an annual customer appreciation party that we do.  We rent out the aquatic center here and my wife and I make all the food—pulled pork, brisket, hamburgers, sausage, chicken, hot dogs, a bunch of salads,” JRCC owner Ben Justesen said.  “We invite our customers, agents, adjusters, subs and material vendors and their families. We get prizes big and small and ask vendors in the community if they would like to donate.  Any money we get we match and donate to a charity.”

Over 30 years, JRCC has been growing and evolving, and their contractor branding has evolved along with them.  By utilizing trade show graphics, fleet graphics, updated building signs and more, they have created a brand that is recognizable throughout the region.  Signs for Success is a locally owned family business in Spokane, and we strive for excellent customer service, perfect color, and quick turnaround on every project.  Our large production facility allows us to design, print and install everything in-house.  Get quality service and a quick turnaround on contractor branding; contact us for a free quote today!

A little more about JRCC:

JRCC was founded in 1985 by Blaine Justesen.  His son, Ben Justesen started working in the industry as a teenager.  After graduating high school, he was a missionary for his church for two years in Sweden.  He then attended Eastern Washington where he met his future wife.  They were married and moved back to Moses Lake.  Ben returned to JRCC as the Estimator and Production Manager.  After about nine years and receiving many certifications in the cleaning and restoration industry, he bought out his father to become the President of JRCC.  He is very involved with his industry networks and associations.  Ben credits his success to the stable foundation his father built and the employees that do incredible things every day.  Together, they have made Just Right Cleaning & Construction the best restoration company in Eastern Washington.
