Foam Core Posters vs. Paper Posters

Foam Core Posters are a great alternative to paper posters. Foam board material is lightweight and rigid, and it provides a number of different display options. For example, foam core posters can be mounted using hanging hardware, stud mounted to a wall, framed, or placed in a stand. Foam board can be scored and folded. We can also cut foam board into a custom shape to make unique hanging signs, standees and displays.

The main difference between foam core posters and traditional paper posters is that foam board is rigid. Over time, paper posters may bend, curl, or tear. Foam core is lightweight and provides a beautiful matte finish, but most importantly, it is a substantial material that does especially well as a hanging sign or tabletop display.

We encourage businesses to go all out with their trade show booths when they can, and for good reason – well-designed trade show graphics make a huge statement. Just like this booth we recently did for Dynamic Decks in Spokane, the PopUp display with matching table throw and retractable banner stand come together to create an amazing look that gives a great first impression.

The design and layout were done by Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger. Each product in this three-part tradeshow display encompasses the same clean design. This is important because not only does it provide the visual impact you want at a tradeshow, but it also gets your message across clearly without a lot of different text, patterns or colors to confuse and distract a viewer.

The 6 ft. EZ Tube Tabletop Display has a slim profile of about 3 inches. With a lightweight aluminum frame and seamless fabric graphic that stretches over the frame, it’s simple to set up and has a great streamlined look. A 6 ft. three-sided custom table throw beneath the tabletop display gives the effect of a full free standing booth. Trade show table covers come in 6-foot or 8-foot lengths, and can be printed with one or two colors (for a simple logo or company name), or in full color to really maximize the visual impact.

The retractable banner stand with a digitally printed super smooth banner completes the look. It also provides an opportunity to give a little more information. Dynamic Decks chose to add a single testimonial – a great use of the extra space without overwhelming the viewer with text.

6 Easily Transportable Trade Show Displays Spokane

When you’re representing your company on the go, you don’t want to worry about details, especially when traveling to an out-of-state event. Here are some easily transportable—yet still custom—tradeshow display options:

The Hopup Trade show Booth is a Tension Fabric Display. Your custom graphics are printed on fabric that pulls tightly around the display, creating a custom backdrop. This is one of the most dynamic and popular large format graphics displaysdue to its maximum impact with minimal effort. Hopup Tension Fabric Displays come in a variety of sizes—straight or curved, table-top or full height. The extruded aluminum frame is lightweight and highly portable, and they pack away as easy as they set up! Backlighting kits can be purchased separately, and when installed, they literally make your display glow.
The Popup Display is similar to the Hopup in that the lightweight metal frame expands and contracts quickly and easily for easy setup and take-down. The difference is that the Popup uses magnetic graphics. We print graphics onto a thin flexible plastic called Styrene, then add magnetic tape to the back that clings to the display. Overhead lighting illuminates your graphics, and case-to-counter conversion kits and graphics add to the professional look.

The EQ1 display (above) utilizes the curved shape to add graphics -their logo and website – to the sides as well as the main front image. When it’s time to change the look, you can keep the Popup frame and just update the graphics. Even though we’ve modified our look or tweaked the verbiage in our own graphics, we’ve been using the same Popup Curve frame for tradeshows and other events for many years.

Folding Displays–Briefcase style tabletop displays are a great choice for promotions on the go. These tabletop displays have a rigid, thermo formed ABS exterior and a black, Velcro compatible fabric interior. We print custom graphics on Styrene or PosPro then add Velcro tabs to the back for easy set up and/or changes. Custom headers increase the visual space, and are easily stowed inside the display case during off seasons or for travel.

Printed Table Skirts– A full color logo table skirt is the perfect complement to your custom tradeshow display. Full graphics, printed from edge to edge, will make your booth stand out from the rest. Retractable Banner Stands – A retractable display is similar to a pop-up but with even more portability. Retractable banners are typically made with a smooth-edged banner material that rolls down into a lightweight aluminum case. To set up, simply pull the banner out and lock it in place with the telescopic pole. This marketing tool can survive several marketing events with ease.
Grasshopper Banner Stands are another way to display banners on the go. The Grasshopper adjustable banner standis made of sturdy aluminum construction. The stand has a gear mechanism that swings high quality graphite poles out on the left and right side of the banner to form an X shape. It is height and width adjustable, and it has 4 hooks on each end of the X shape of the stand for very easy set up and take-down. Switching out graphics for different events is a breeze since the stand is stored separately from the banner.

This backdrop display was designed by BHW1 for Whitworth University’s Special Education. It covers all the basics: easy storage, simple set up and take-down, and custom graphics on a large scale to draw the eye. We printed the graphics on PosPro film with a 10mil polycarbonate (Lexan) overlaminate. The construction makes it possible to roll the display up for easy transport, and the “flat” memory means when you arrive at your destination, the poster will roll out flat and display without any curled edges. Finally, Velcro tabs added to the back of the display make set-up and take-down easy.

Whitworth used the display at their most recent national conference. They received several compliments, and they look forward to using it many more times in the future. 10 Trade Show Booth Design Tips

Research shows you have about 3 seconds to catch someone’s attention at a trade show. There may be hundreds of exhibitors at a show, so how will your booth stand out? When it comes to attracting viewers, it’s all about trade show booth design. Just like any sign or vehicle wrap, when it comes to your trade show booth, you need to get your message across in a simple, clear and creative way. When you drive down the highway, billboard after billboard appears in your view. What makes you read some and not others? Bold colors, an enticing image, a catchy phrase? Here are 10 tips that will make your trade show booth design even more effective:

Every trade show booth should have a large visual backdrop. This is the largest graphic space and the place trade show attendees will look first for information.
Make sure your design is centered on one large image (as opposed to many small ones or lots of text).

Your image should reflect a single focal point of your business. A fence company at a Home Show should use a large picture of a popular style of fence they supply as their backdrop, but not all companies have such an obvious solution. Think about your products or services. Is there one image that describes what you can offer? Is there an image current customers already know you by or associate with your company?
Your company name and other branding material such as logo or slogan should also be prominent in the trade show booth design.
Use text sparingly. Leave more detailed information for pamphlets and brochures.
If text appears in the design, make it count by focusing on a few benefits of your product or service rather than just a list of your services.
Be consistent with branding. If your logo is green and gold, don’t design your trade show booth to be red and black. You want your current customers to recognize you and new customers to remember you. Consistent branding throughout materials and over time is essential to building your brand and brand recognition.
A little white space is good. White space, or negative space, is a portion of a design that is left unmarked. However, white space is not merely blank space, but is an important aspect of aesthetic appeal. White space can allow for creative image placement, adding style without demanding attention, and it helps keep things looking neat and professional.
Keep table give away branded items neat so they don’t distract from the overall design. Whenever possible have items displayed vertically in holders, not laying flat on the table.

Stand Out at Events with Custom 3D Standees

We offer completely custom standees, including 3D standees. The graphics for these three-dimensional tabletop stands were designed by Quinn Group for Spokane Regional Solid Waste System, and they were printed, cut and assembled by Signs for Success.

For the best use of material, we suggested 32.5” x 23.5”-sized standees. “They wanted 36” x 26” when we first started, but material usage had too much waste, and it saved a bundle to do six per sheet rather than only three per sheet at the bigger size,” Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger said.

We used three different materials to create the multi-dimensional look of the 3D standees.

First, the background was cut out of gatorplast, a material that is rigid and thick enough to stand on its own without the material bending. Next, the recycle can and grass graphics were cut out of .040 polystyrene. Polystyrene is a slightly thinner material that can be cut in-house on our plotter. The plotter gives us the ability to contour cut signage, and it can achieve both the curvy swoosh of the grass and the angular cuts of the trash can. Half-inch pieces of polystyrene were used as spacers between each element to give the stands their 3D look. Finally, we used corrugated plastic to construct the stand that was added to the back. The stand on the back is angled slightly so the entire standee leans back. “We did not want it to be too front heavy and fall on its face, so leaning back was a good solution,” Vanessa explained.

Foamcore is a paper product with a wood-fiber veneer. It has similar thickness to corrugated plastic, but with a smooth face, and it’s perfect for indoor displays and indoor hanging signs.
