This big building banner for Global Credit Union utilizes empty space on the building to brand their new location. Design is simple and clean with logo and name to identify the new headquarters. A fairly straightforward project, the challenge was in installing this large banner at the top of a several-story building.
“We went up to the roof to plan how install would best work for changing out the banner in the future,” Signs for Success designer Vanessa Bogensberger said. “We could not reach from the ground because of all the electrical lines in the way in the alley at the base of the building. So we determined to put up guy wires, then stretch the banner along the wires and leave up a pulley system for gathering it at one side to remove/replace in the future.”
Guy wires are tensioned cables that are both lightweight and strong, and they add stability to a free-standing structure. They are versatile so you can add components, in our case, a pulley system, to create a functioning banner setup. The use of guy wire also keeps the banner taut, so wind will not have a detrimental effect to the banner. The banner faces north and measures 56 feet by 7.5 feet.
“This one was a brainstorming challenge, but it looks great!” Vanessa said. Use a big building banner to brand your location, advertise , or announce an event.
